Al - Fatiha

بسم اللہ الرحیم الرحیم ۔

In the name of Allah, the ‘Compassionate’, the ‘Merciful’.

الحمد اللہ رب العالمین ۔

All praises is for Allah, the ‘Lord’ of all worlds.

الرحمن الرحیم ۔

The ‘Compassionate’, the ‘Merciful’.

مالک یوم الدین ط

Master of the Day of Judgment.

ایاک نعبد وایاک نستعین ط

O’Allah! You alone we worship, and You alone we call for help.

اھدناالصراط المستقیم ۔

O’Allah, guide us to the Righteous Way.

صراط الذین انعمت علیھم،  غیرالمغضوب علیھم،  ولضآلین۔

The way of those whom You have blessed, Of them who have not earned your wrath, And of them who have not lost their way. 

Chapter of Al - Fatiha, (سورہ الفاتحہ ) is the opining of Quran. Word Fatiha (of Arabic) contains meaning of opening of any thing like preface of book, which contains introduction of the next coming pages and topics of the book. Hence Surah Al – Fatiha is the opening of Quran. It contains the introduction of Quran.

By the content this chapter is a Dua (invocation, prayer) that Allah taught himself to mankind. If any one of us wants to get benefit from this Book (Quran), the he must ask Allah the guidance in his own given words.
